“Coaching has changed the way I think and feel.”

This recent feedback from a client really goes to the heart of what I love about coaching, what motivates me and where I find meaning and fulfilment – my why.

🎯 VALUES
Being a coach aligns with my values – the things that are important to me and guide how I live my life:

– Curiosity and lifelong learning
– Personal development and growth
– Empowerment, choice, and agency

Building more understanding and self-awareness of my values gave me the insight and confidence to step forward into coaching as my second career.

🌸 SERVICE
I have a strong belief in the positive and transformational impact that coaching can have – enabling people to reach their potential, change their lives, and feel more empowered, confident, and happy.

Coaching allows me to serve my clients by:

– Actively listening to what is really being said (and not being said)
– Seeing them for who they truly are and celebrating their uniqueness
– Asking questions that help them reach their own insights and commitments
– Providing feedback and holding up a mirror to develop more self-awareness
– Providing a safe, confidential, and supportive environment to build personal accountability

⚡ CONNECTION
I love connecting with people, particularly one-to-one. Connection is the foundation of effective coaching – as a coach my goal is to foster a genuine and authentic connection with my client, built on trust and creating the space for deeper exploration, understanding, and growth.

Beyond clients, I really value connecting with my coaching network, peers, mentors, supervisors, and mentees – being an active and engaged member of the professional coaching community is important to me.

☀ MEANING & FULFILMENT
I’m visual and the best way I can describe the meaning and fulfilment I get from coaching is through the Japanese concept of Ikigai.

This model was in my mind well before I signed up to my coaching qualification back in 2020. I knew I was searching for something that I could love, be good at, be paid for, and that the world needed – the four areas of the Ikigai model that overlap at intersections to support your passion, mission, vocation, and profession. I continue to return to this concept for reflection and to practice gratitude.

If you’re seeking a deeper understanding of what motivates you and brings you meaning, I’d love to connect and explore this with you.

Why do you love what you do?
