Four years ago, I took a leap of faith and stepped into a new chapter in my professional life by starting a qualification as an executive coach. Today, I’m celebrating my coachiversary! 🎈
Here are my top 3 takeaways from my journey so far:
1. Get to know your ‘why’ and listen to it
🧭 Shifting careers midlife isn’t easy but I’ve been guided by what I value most and my motivation to find more purpose, to give more of me and make more impact (what things are most important to you and how are they showing up in your career?)
2. The power of presence can be transformative
⚡ Genuine human connection, where we create space in service for another can be incredibly powerful and transformational – and we can all do it in our daily lives (try it in your next work 1:1, call with a family member or coffee with a friend)
3. Coaching is as much about my growth as it is my clients
🌀 I’ve deepened my self awareness and feel more confident and purposeful, showing up with more ‘Stu-ness’ and learning it’s ok to not know all the answers (where can you try new things that will support your own learning and growth?)
A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who’s been part of my coaching journey so far. I’m in awe every day of my incredible clients, whose energy and commitment are inspirational. I’m grateful for my professional network of peers, mentors and supervisors, whose support and guidance I value deeply. Here’s to making a difference – one conversation at a time!
As I step into year five, I’m more committed than ever to helping leaders navigate their transitions, unlock their potential, and lead with confidence. If you’re curious about coaching, I’d love to connect and explore how I can support you to reach your personal and professional goals for 2025.
All in all, the lyrics from Guy Clark’s ‘The Cape’ sum up my last four years perfectly…
“Well, he’s one of those who knows
That life is just a leap of faith
Spread your arms and hold your breath
And always trust your cape”
What milestones are you celebrating?
