As we celebrate International Leadership Week, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the powerful role leadership plays in shaping organisations and the positive impact it can have on others.
For me, the week is a reminder that leadership is an ongoing journey of learning and self-development.
I reflect on my 25 years’ experience in leadership roles prior to coaching and how as leaders, we need to continually invest in ourselves – so we can inspire others and create positive change around us.
Yet none of us lead in isolation – every leader benefits from being empowered with the space and support to reflect, adapt and grow.
I did when I was in an organisational leadership role and that’s why I’m now an executive coach – to bring to bear my strong belief in the transformational impact that coaching can have on the confidence, performance, and fulfilment of leaders.
I focus my support on empowering my clients to:
👏🏼 Understand themselves as a leader within their context – exploring the leader they needed to be in the present and how this might shift into the future
👏🏼 Build awareness of their leadership strengths and preferences – to support continuous personal and professional growth
👏🏼 Enhance emotional intelligence – understanding how they show up as a leader and the impact this had on others, using this awareness to flex their approach in different situations
👏🏼 Quieten the imposter and move forward with more confidence – reframing the imposter thoughts and learning to harness them to feel more confident
👏🏼 Develop effective leadership communication skills – including setting a vision, being confident and assertive, and giving challenges messages
👏🏼 Create leadership habits and a toolkit to increase focus and productivity –
establishing the approaches that underpin their style and goals
If this resonates with you and you’d like to explore your leadership development, I’d love the opportunity to empower you to grow.
How are you investing in your leadership this week?
